I am also thinking that it would be good to heating 17-4PH SS to the H900 condition. 17-4ph at H900 has a hardness of about 45Rc and is pretty tough, ie, a good material for tools etc.
Nov 28, 2016 · In half the rounds using H1000, I had to setback and re-chamber an identical barrel the previous season. It appears that double base powders release more energy and less gas and heat. RE25 does not have a any type of muzzle flash, whereas H1000 is rather large in my 30" barrels.

Started working on loads with the H1000 (I already had this on the shelf.) Best estimate is a starting load of 80.0gr behind the Barnes 280gr LRX bullet. Potential maximum is 88.0gr. The starting load was crushed with the bullet. I stopped loading at 83.0gr. I'll test these four for starters. Personally, I don't much like or trust compressed loads.
